The Journal of Business Administration (JBA, ISSN:1025-9627) is an academic journal on the subject of management and publishes four issues per year (in March, June, September, and December). The purpose of this journal is to promote the research in the fields of business administration and practice management. Manuscripts must be original, and have not been published or be under consideration for publication elsewhere. The journal rejects manuscripts containing plagiarized content or fraudulent data, as well as those failing to reveal conflicts of interest. As part of the peer review and publication procedures, the editor in chief, the editorial board, and the publisher endeavor to ensure that no violation of publication ethics or related malpractice takes place.
The following is an abridged version of ethical guidelines for editors, reviewers and authors:
1. Publication Decision Editors decide which of the manuscripts submitted to the journal are to be published based upon the subject matter of the research and the reviewers’ comments. Editors ensure that all submitted manuscripts considered for publication undergo peer-review by at least two reviewers who are experts in the field. 2. Conflicts of interests Editors ensure that any parties sponsoring or subsidizing the research do not interfere with the peer-review process and the review standards. 3. Disclosure principle Editors will not use unpublished information disclosed in a submitted manuscript for their own research purposes without the express written consent of the author. 4. Fair play Editors evaluate manuscripts exclusively according to their academic merit (importance, originality, validity, and clarity) and the relevance to the journal’s scope, without regard to non-academic elements, such as race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnic origin, citizenship, religious belief, political philosophy or institutional affiliation. 5. Confidentiality Editors and editorial staff will not reveal any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, other editorial consultants, and the publisher, as appropriate. 6. Involvement and cooperation in investigations Editors and the publisher will take necessary actions when cases for violation of ethical norms are found or reported. Any ethical misconduct will be investigated and traced, even if it concerns work that has already been published. Upon confirmation of a violation of academic ethics, the paper may be corrected or withdrawn, or a clarifying written statement may be added.Ethical Responsibilities of Editors▼
1. Confidentiality Reviewers should treat any manuscript received for review as confidential, and not reveal any details of the manuscript or its review except to the journal editors. 2. Acknowledgment of sources Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. 3. Objectivity Reviewers should conduct the review process objectively, and formulate clear observations with supporting arguments, so that authors can use them to improve the paper. 4. Open Principle and Conflict of InterestEthical Responsibilities of Reviewers▼
1. Originality and plagiarism Submitted manuscripts must be original work. No data may have been fabricated or manipulated (including images) to support the conclusions. Plagiarism in all its forms constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable. Plagiarism can take many forms, including using others’ results as the author’s own, copying or duplicating substantial parts of other papers without attribution, or claiming results from research conducted by others. 2. Multiple, redundant or concurrent publication Submitted manuscripts must not have been published or be under consideration for publication elsewhere (unless an explanation has been provided in the comments to the Editor). Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals violates the ethical norms of publication. 3. Data access and retention Authors may be asked to provide the raw data as a reference for editorial review, and should be prepared to make the data open to the public. 4. Acknowledgement of sources Data, text, or theories from others may not be presented as if they were the author’s own. Proper acknowledgement to other work must be given (this includes material that is patch written, summarized and/or paraphrased): quotation marks must be used for verbatim copying of material, and permission secured for material that is copyrighted. 5. Disclosure and conflicts of interest Authors must declare all relationships or interests that could influence or bias the work. Examples of potential conflicts of interest may include but are not limited to the following: research grants from funding agencies, financial support for attending symposia or educational programs, and support from a project sponsor. All sources of financial support for the work should be disclosed. 6. Authorship of the paper Authors whose names appear on the submission have made substantial contributions to the work and therefore share collective responsibility and accountability for the results. Authors should consider carefully the list and order of authors before submitting their manuscript, and provide a definitive list of authors at the time of the original submission. Any addition, deletion or rearrangement of author names in the authorship list should be made only before the manuscript has been accepted, and only if approved by the executive editor. 7. Hazards and human or animal subjects If the work involves potentially harmful chemicals or procedures, or requires facilities associated with any inherent unusual hazards, the author must describe them in detail. If the work involves human or animal subjects, the author must specify the all procedures, and ensure that they comply with all relevant governing laws and norms. When human subjects are involved, the author must include a statement of consent of human subjects with the manuscript, and protect the privacy of the subjects for an indefinite duration. 8.
